How do USD spreads become GBP costs?

At an illustrative rate of £0.80 per $1, a $10 spread costs £8. A £1 commission per lot per side adds £2, giving £10 for a completed one-lot trade.

The 0.80 conversion and £1 commission are examples, not current exchange rates or Vantage pricing. This excludes currency-conversion markups. UK retail account rules and broker entity must be checked separately.

Calculation

Spread cost = (ask − bid) × units per lot × lots × conversion. Commission = fee per side × 2 × lots. Swap = nightly rate × lots × chargeable nights. Total = (spread + commission + swap) × completed trades. Excludes slippage, market movement and other account charges.
