How much does a $0.20 gold spread cost?

For an illustrative contract of 100 ounces per lot, a $0.20 price gap costs $20 for one lot. At 0.1 lot it costs $2. Enter your broker’s actual ounces per lot.

Gold pip conventions and contract sizes differ. The cash calculation uses the bid–ask price gap, not an assumed universal gold pip value.

Calculation

Spread cost = (ask − bid) × units per lot × lots × conversion. Commission = fee per side × 2 × lots. Swap = nightly rate × lots × chargeable nights. Total = (spread + commission + swap) × completed trades. Excludes slippage, market movement and other account charges.
