Calculate specific trading costs

How forex spread and trading fees are calculated

Spread in pips = (ask − bid) ÷ pip size. Spread cost = (ask − bid) × units per lot × lots × quote-to-account conversion rate. For an illustrative EUR/USD trade, a 0.0001 price gap on 100,000 units costs $10 in a USD account.

Round-trip commission = commission per lot per side × 2 × lots. Overnight fees = signed swap per lot per night × lots × chargeable nights. Total trading fees = (spread cost + round-trip commission + overnight fees) × completed trades.

The spread is counted once per round trip, assuming the entered bid–ask gap is representative. This estimate excludes market movement, slippage, currency conversion markups, deposits, withdrawals and other account fees. It is not a profit forecast.
